Las Vegas Raiders 2021 NFL mock draft: Round 3, 81st overall

Pick Analysis. LSU. Jabril Cox. player. 817. Scouting Report. LB. 3

The Las Vegas Raiders have already made major defensive additions in this 2021 NFL mock draft, but they go back to the well here in the third round. Jabril Cox does not have an ideal frame for an NFL linebacker, but he is a quick and athletic playmaker who fits the modern game extremely well.

Cox is an explosive linebacker who covers a ton of ground on the field. He certainly still has a ton of work to do as a run defender, but Cox is an extremely impressive coverage linebacker who shines in both man and zone coverage. Three picks through this 2021 NFL mock draft and the Las Vegas Raiders have been able to find an impact playmaker at all three levels of their defensive unit. Not a bad start for this defensive-needy squad.

After spending major resources early in this mock draft on the defensive side of the ball, the Raiders now turn their attention to the offense. With this extra third-round pick acquired in the first-round trade-down, the Raiders add wide receiver Sage Surratt to the mix.

Nelson Agholor was great for the Raiders last season and if they are unable to bring him back, wide receiver will be a position of need for this team. Surratt is not the most impressive athlete around, but he is a big and physical wide receiver who can create a bit of space and consistently displays soft hands.

He shows impressive on-field awareness, provides great value in contested-catch situations and has some upside as a run-after-catch playmaker. Wide receiver is not a massive need for this team, but the Raiders could certainly use some quality pass-catching depth and Surratt would certainly help in that department.
