Ja'Marr Chase. 6. player. 54. Scouting Report. LSU. Pick Analysis. WR

With Carson Wentz moving on, the Philadelphia Eagles could certainly be in the market for a quarterback in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. An aggressive move up for Zach Wilson or Justin Fields may be on the table and they would certainly consider either prospect were they available at No. 6. However, in this NFL mock draft scenario, neither player is on the board.

Trey Lance may be an option here, but being patient giving Jalen Hurts a real chance to prove himself feels like the better play. Instead of addressing quarterback, the Eagles make a move at the wide receiver position by adding Ja’Marr Chase to the mix.

Chase is an extremely gifted wide receiver prospect who does everything well on the football field. He consistently gets clean releases off of the line of scrimmage, is a strong route runner, has soft hands and shines in contested-catch situations. Chase is a true alpha at the wide receiver position who would quickly grow into a strong No. 1 option in the Eagles’ passing attack.

7. Pick Analysis. DeVonta Smith. 50. Scouting Report. WR. Alabama. player

The Detroit Lions would also be wise to consider a long-term quarterback option here. Jared Goff deserves a chance to prove himself in Detroit, but let’s be honest, it is probably not going to work out well. That being said, wide receiver is a massive position of need for this team and DeVonta Smith is impossible to ignore in this range.

Smith is a dynamic playmaker at the wide receiver position who creates space with ease, catches everything in sight and absolutely shines in run-after-catch situations. He is also a fantastic deep threat who tracks the ball in the air extremely well. Simply put, Smith is a tremendous wide receiver prospect who can make plays at all levels. The Lions are likely going to struggle in the near future and having Smith around would at least give them someone to believe in.
