Miami Dolphins 2021 NFL mock draft: Round 3, 81st overall

Ronnie Perkins. 3. player. Oklahoma. Pick Analysis. EDGE. 815. Scouting Report

Landing Micah Parsons earlier in this 2021 NFL mock draft would help the Dolphins’ edge rusher situation, but they could still use some quality depth at the position. Here in the third round, the Miami Dolphins scoop up Ronnie Perkins, an extremely interesting edge rusher out of Oklahoma.

Perkins is listed as an edge rusher, but he is really a versatile defensive lineman who can make an impact across the defensive line. He is a power-based player who shoots his hands out quickly to stun the offensive lineman. Perkins does a great job of setting the edge and also chases down ball carriers at an extremely high level.

While Perkins’ game is built on power, he does show some nice upfield burst and speed around the edge. Perkins is quick off of the ball and does a great job of gaining an immediate advantage over the opposing offensive lineman. Simply put, he is an extremely physical and powerful player who also displays some nice athletic ability. He is a real impact player against the run and as a pass rusher and could develop into something special in Miami.

Miami Dolphins 2021 NFL mock draft: Round 4, 123rd overall

4. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. S. TCU. Ar'Darius Washington. 872

Bobby McCain and Eric Rowe combine to form a solid starting safety duo for the Miami Dolphins. However, neither player is overly likely to be a long-term impact player for this team.

With this in mind, the safety position may quickly become a long-term need for Miami. In the fourth round of this 2021 NFL mock draft, the Miami Dolphins bring in Ar’Darius Washington to potentially help fill this need. Washington is a small player, but he is a feisty competitor who is not afraid to come up and offer support against the run and attacks the ball in the air extremely well.

Simply put, Washington is a gifted athlete who has exciting playmaking ability. He may not come in and make an immediate impact for this team, but Washington is a gifted player who could certainly grow into an impact player in the secondary.
