The Miami Dolphins are undoubtedly one of the most fun teams to control in 2021 NFL mock draft scenarios this offseason. Not only is Miami loaded with extra draft capital once again, but they also hold the third overall pick in April’s draft.

It is certainly going to be interesting to see what Miami does at No. 3, but their extra draft capital gives them multiple bites at the apple and extra opportunities to find the right players. However, if they nail this draft class, the Dolphins are going to be set up for success for many years.

How should the Miami Dolphins attack the 2021 NFL Draft? Find out in this complete seven-round mock draft for the team.

We begin this 2021 NFL mock draft with a trade down scenario for the Miami Dolphins. As long as they have a team willing to come up, trading down from No. 3 makes the most sense for Miami. Quarterbacks are expected to fly off of the board early in April and the Dolphins are in a major position of strength holding the No. 3 pick.

In this 2021 NFL mock draft scenario, the San Francisco 49ers are the team to get aggressive, trading all the way up to No. 3 from No. 12 for quarterback Justin Fields. The trade details are listed below:

Trading down and still being in a position to land one of the top wide receivers in the class would be an ideal scenario for the Miami Dolphins. There are other directions that they can go, but if Miami is able to trade down and still snag Ja’Marr Chase, DeVonta Smith or Jaylen Waddle, they should look at that as a major win.

Swapping picks with 49ers cuts it close but in this 2021 NFL mock draft, Jaylen Waddle slides down the board a bit before landing softly with the Dolphins at No. 12.

Waddle missed a majority of the 2020 season with an ankle injury, but he is an impact player who undoubtedly has massive upside at the next level. Waddle is an extremely quick and explosive wide receiver prospect who shows tremendous elusiveness in the open field and elite speed with the ball in his hands. He is a tremendous deep threat at the wide receiver position who also shows incredible natural playmaking ability with the ball in his hands.

Simply put, Waddle is a big play waiting to happen at all times. His speed and quickness are a major game-changer and would immediately inject some life into the Dolphins’ passing attack.
