Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 4. Safety. Georgia. Richard Lecounte III. player. 46

There are always very good talents in the NFL Draft that slip into day three, and the 2021 version will be no different. Here, the Indianapolis Colts and Ballard capitalize on that to further beef up the secondary.

While Julian Blackmon and Khari Willis have looked good as a young duo, there’s always room for improvement. Richard LeCounte III is a very underrated player in the class and would fit in well with Indianapolis. His instincts are what set him apart from other safeties. He keys in on the quarterback’s eyes so well and closes to make plays. LeCounte will be comfortable in the two-deep look that Matt Eberflus often runs.

The tight end situation for the Indianapolis Colts is best described as “fine”. Jack Doyle found it towards the end of the 2020 campaign, and Mo Alie-Cox got his moments to shine. Trey Burton is now a free agent, and Cox will likely receive the exclusive rights tender to stay in Indy. However, with Wentz coming to town, having a loaded room is a good idea.

Tre’ McKitty didn’t have insane production while at Georgia, but he sure made his presence felt down in Mobile, dominating the 1v1s and providing some highlight-reel plays in the process. He can become a very good threat in the passing game.
