2021 NFL Draft: Round 1, 6th overall

WR. Ja'Marr Chase. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 54. LSU. 6

The Philadelphia Eagles will likely make several changes at the wide receiver position this year. They are likely to cut both DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery this offseason. They also have several unproven players on the roster including 2020 first-round pick Jalen Reagor who only had 31 catches last year and Travis Fulgham who despite leading the team in receiving yards last year is far from a great wide receiver.

This lack of star power at the position and the fact they need whoever is the starting quarterback in 2021 to have a successful season, is why I predict the Philadelphia Eagles to take a wide receiver at the sixth spot in the 2021 NFL Draft. The wide receiver who would make the most sense with this pick is LSU’s Ja’Marr Chase.

Chase was one of the most dominant players in college football in 2019 as he recorded 84 receptions for 1,780 yards and 20 touchdowns. The skills that should translate to the NFL and make Chase an All-Pro wide receiver include the ability to make yards after the catch, and an ability to track the ball with the best of them.

One other option at this pick would be Micah Parsons, but the Eagles usually don’t consider linebackers this high in the draft.
