player. 87. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Ohio State. 3. Quarterback. Justin Fields

Our first big trade in this mock draft is here! The Carolina Panthers send the Miami Dolphins No. 8, their second and fourth-round picks in 2021, and a third-rounder in 2022 for the third overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Panthers have a young and developing team, and they add a young quarterback in Justin Fields here.

Fields isn’t as far off from Lawrence in terms of a prospect that many believe. His arm talent is phenomenal, and he has an incredible deep ball. Fields has very good mobility and makes plays on the move. His toughness is very good and was displayed first hand in the playoff semifinal. He’d be fun to watch in Joe Brady’s offense.

Pick Analysis. Cornerback. Alabama. Patrick Surtain Jr.. Scouting Report. 4. player. 44

The Atlanta Falcons have a plethora of options here at the fourth overall selection. They could draft the heir apparent to Matt Ryan, or focus on helping a defense that has struggled the past few seasons.

It seems odd to go after a corner a year after drafting A.J. Terrell in the first round, but a pair of Terrell and Patrick Surtain Jr. would be very good in an NFC South that has the reigning Super Bowl champs with a bundle of weapons. Surtain is impressive technically, very patient, and physical at the line in press and as a tackler.
