2021 NFL Draft: Jets, Panthers fill QB need in three-round mock draft
2021 NFL Draft: Round 1, 27th overall
The Baltimore Ravens have put together arguably the best rushing attack in the NFL but they did struggle to replace retired offensive guard Marshal Yanda this past season. Yanda had a long and extremely successful career in Baltimore and replacing him was never going to be easy. However, this offense took a step back this past season and solidifying the interior offensive line could help get them back on track.
With their first-round pick in this mock draft, the Ravens address their interior offensive line need with the selection of Landon Dickerson. Dickerson shined at the center position for Alabama this season, showing incredible natural power at the point of attack when clearing out lanes in the run game.
Dickerson is a dominant offensive lineman when he is playing inside the box, physically man-handling opposing defenders using a strong initial punch, tremendous grip strength and playing with great leverage. While he is not an overly impressive athlete, Dickerson is quick off of the ball and shows the ability to compete well at the second level. However, the power and toughness that he plays with make up for whatever athletic limitations that he may have.
Dickerson did suffer a torn ACL late in the 2020 season and that obviously brings some injury concerns going forward. However, if he checks out physically, it is difficult to look at Dickerson as anything less than a first-round prospect in the 2021 NFL Draft. If the medicals clear, Dickerson would be an ideal choice for the Ravens at No. 27.
