The New England Patriots’ two nose tackles Lawrence Guy and Adam Butler are both free agents this offseason, and it sounds like the team will only be able to afford one back. This would create a need for a young nose tackle and Khyiris Tonga would be a good addition. He has the size (6-foot-4, 321 pounds) and explosiveness to be a decent developmental player.

New England goes back to the defensive side for the third time in a row. This time they add a free safety who can develop behind Devin McCourty, who is nearing the end of his career. While Washington is on the smaller side at 5-foot-8 he has the ball skills to possibly develop into a starting free safety down the road.

With a total of ten picks in the 2021 NFL Draft, you can count on the New England Patriots adding at least one offensive lineman in the draft. In Young, they get a big offensive lineman (6-foot-7, 305 pounds) who has proven to be a strong run blocker. He is undoubtedly a developmental player and will need to improve in pass protection to make the Patriots’ active roster.

The Patriots finish off their draft by adding one more linebacker. Fisher is the tough, competitive, smart type of linebacker Bill Belichick loves. He should be able to at least earn a spot on special teams early in his career with the Patriots.
