The most dire and immediate need for this struggling depth chart is weapons in the receiving game, both at wide receiver and tight end. Since to departure of Rob Gronkowski, injury-riddled veteran wideout Julian Edelman has been one of the few consistent presences through the air for New England when he is on the field.

At the number fifteen overall spot, New England will be in prime position to select one of the various options potentially present in yet another deep wide receiver class which hosts a wide variety of skill sets that could be folded into the New England offensive system, from the quickness of Kadarius Toney to the size of Terrace Marshall Jr.

Even outside of the first-round, the 2021 NFL Draft has seen numerous stocks rising in the wide receiver class after an impressive collection of performances throughout the senior bowl.

For the solution at tight end though, the 2021 NFL Draft may not have a cornucopia of top-tier talent outside of Florida’s Kyle Pitts, but multiple unique options sit in the middle and late rounds of the draft class with the potential to ascend to a major role as a rookie.

After the shortcomings of rookies Devin Asiasi and Dalton Keene, New England needs to hit on draft selections at tight end in the 2021 NFL Draft.
