After a season that saw some of the most uninspiring offense out of the New England Patriots in recent memory, the front office at Gillette Stadium needs to fully reassess its roster in order to make the most of their limited 2021 NFL Draft capital.

Highlighted by the departure of Tom Brady, New England failed to develop a functional offensive system around veteran newcomer Cam Newton, partly because of the lack of any feature receiving weapons at his disposal.

Entering the 2021 NFL Draft, the primary focus will be to reinvigorate an otherwise dull group of offensive playmakers as well as supplement defensive free-agency losses to further build out a young and competitive defense. Some of these losses on the defensive side of the ball include key interior defensive linemen Lawrence Guy and Adam Butler, as well as edge rusher John Simon.

Entering the 2021 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots currently possess seven total selections, forfeiting their third-round pick for filming the Cincinnati Bengals’ sideline during the 2019 season, as well as owning Dallas’ sixth-round selection.

Though it may not be an overly glamorous war-chest, Bill Belichick has manufactured a reputation for finding gems in days two and three of the NFL draft.

Finally, the question of quarterback for not only the coming season but for the franchise’s future will come to the forefront of discussion over the coming months in an effort to find a player which they can build around.

Jarrett Stidham has failed to win the favor of the Patriots’ staff as their solution for the future, encouraging the expenditure of their top selection on one of the five potential first-round quarterbacks in the 2021 NFL draft.
