Senior Bowl prospects Indianapolis Colts should target in 2021 NFL Draft
Tre’ McKitty, TE, Georgia
It feels weird to bring up tight end as a major need for the Indianapolis Colts, as they had a productive trio in 2020. However, Trey Burton will be a free agent, and while Mo Alie-Cox is an exclusive rights free agent, keeping the tight end room deep will be something Ballard and Reich will like to do.
The good news is that this class is much better than last year’s group, with legitimate high-end talent. There were a couple of players who can be productive at the next level show up to Mobile for the Senior Bowl. One of those players, Tre’ McKitty, had some highlight-reel catches throughout the week and held his own in the blocking drills.
McKitty transferred to Georgia from Florida State, and only had six catches for 108 yards and a touchdown in four games with the Bulldogs. The production wasn’t there, but the talent certainly is. His ability as a receiver should put him on the Indianapolis Colts’ radar early on day three of the draft.
There’s little doubt Ballard and Reich will have plenty of these guys on their board come April, and don’t be surprised to see multiple Senior Bowl players drafted again in 2021. It’s just a matter of when.
