D’Wayne Eskridge, WR, Western Michigan

Despite selecting two receivers in the second round in two of the past three NFL Drafts, the Indianapolis Colts should still be in the market for a wide receiver. T.Y. Hilton isn’t getting younger, and it’ll be important to find another receiver who can succeed at separating on the outside.

He will be on every article until draft time, but Western Michigan’s D’Wayne Eskridge should be in play for the Colts. He’s listed at just 5-foot-9 and 188 pounds, which is nearly identical to Hilton.

Asking Eskridge to win on the outside won’t be a problem. He’s so crisp off the line against press, showing extremely quick footwork and a good release package. His explosion in and out of breaks is impressive, and he can set up corners with his head and shoulders. Eskridge averaged over 20 yards per catch in his last three years with Western Michigan, and his explosive ability to win vertically and horizontally would be a great addition to Frank Reich’s offense.

Eskridge’s stock is soaring right now, so round two would likely be the sweet spot, but it would be crazy to rule him out for Indianapolis. They need to help out whoever will be under center in 2021.
