When looking at the draft history for the Indianapolis Colts under Ballard, there are obviously patterns and thresholds that he prefers. As far as the corner position goes, finding a tall, long corner will be part of the draft strategy this cycle.

Xavier Rhodes is currently set to become a free agent, but there’s a strong chance he’s back. Rhodes, Julian Blackmon and Kenny Moore are the core of a promising secondary. The issue is the struggles that Rock Ya-Sin has gone through in his time in the league. Despite that, it’s unlikely Ballard switches philosophy and will look for another corner of Ya-Sin’s type in the 2021 draft.

Luckily, the Senior Bowl displayed plenty of mid to late-round talent at the position. There were plenty of corners who fit the bill of tall and long. Syracuse’s Ifeatu Melifonwu grabbed the headlines and could be in play, but there’s a later round corner from Minnesota who the Colts should look at.

Benjamin St-Juste is the type of corner that teams will covet later in the draft who can develop into a starter. His patience is impressive, and he can quickly change direction to stick with receivers. He plays the receiver at the catch point and is great with his timing there. His ball skills are also underrated. Give him some time and he could be the missing piece in the secondary.
