The offensive line is clearly a need for the Indianapolis Colts after the retirement of Anthony Castonzo. Another thing to note is that at this moment, only two linemen on their entire roster are signed past the 2022 season. Obviously, Quenton Nelson will likely be the third, but this offensive line room needs some depth along with a starter.

There are two players to look at here. First is North Dakota State tackle Dillon Radunz. The draft community is a little iffy on Radunz after inconsistencies in pass protection from his 2019 tape, something that was warranted. Unfortunately, Radunz didn’t get a chance to show off his improvement, as the Bison only got to play one game in 2020.

Radunz brought it down to Mobile and looked much more comfortable in the 1v1s. His footwork looked much improved and he looked good at tackle and guard. Radunz should be a player the Colts would look at in round two of the 2021 NFL Draft.

The class is deep at tackle, and it’s important to bring up someone who will go later in the draft. East Carolina’s D’Ante Smith moved all over down in Mobile, from both guard spots to both tackle spots. He looked very quick with his feet to mirror pass rushers in 1v1s and had great hand placement and anchor ability. The Colts love to add to the offensive line late in the draft, so Smith should definitely be on their radar.
