2021 NFL Draft: 6th pick

Florida. Kyle Pitts. 6. player. Scouting Report. TE. 54. Pick Analysis

Many mock drafts have the Philadelphia Eagles going with an offensive weapon with this top selection.

So much of the Eagles’ offseason now hinges on the future of Carson Wentz, which doesn’t appear to be in Philadelphia.

The former MVP candidate will be traded later in this mock draft scenario, leaving the Eagles with Jalen Hurts, and another pick later…stay tuned.

For this pick, the Eagles go with a player who is unlike many or really any to come along in recent classes. Kyle Pitts will be listed as a tight end, but he’s an offensive weapon and a dynamic one, at that.

Pitts’ physical dominance is incredible to watch as he lines up as a big slot against smaller nickel defensive backs, safeties, or linebackers. He is not coverable one-on-one. He has the catch radius of Inspector Gadget and is dynamic in the open field.

While the future of Carson Wentz is uncertain, it seems like Zach Ertz has played his final game in an Eagles uniform. Dallas Goedert will also be a free agent after the 2021 season.

Regardless of who is playing the quarterback position for the Eagles in 2021 or beyond, there is no question that having a player like Pitts around would make life a lot easier.
