2021 NFL Draft: 31st pick

Miami. EDGE. 31. player. 48. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Gregory Rousseau

The Buccaneers’ defense is one of the most talented in the NFL, but there could be question marks up front beyond the Super Bowl.

Shaquil Barrett played the 2020 season on the franchise tag and obviously, the team would have to figure out a way to work out a long-term deal to keep him around. Ndamukong Suh and Jason Pierre-Paul are not getting any younger, even if both guys are still playing at a high level in Todd Bowles’ defense.

The Bucs could use an infusion of some youth at a number of positions on the defensive front, including off the edge.

Gregory Rousseau, as it were, kills two birds with one stone.

Not only can Rousseau handle edge duties, but he also showed some of his best stuff on tape in 2019 at Miami when he was rushing from an interior line position.

This is the kind of value you would love to see if you’re the Bucs at the bottom of round one. Rousseau was projected as high as the top five going into the 2020 season but after opting out, clear questions about his game have come up as his tape has been dissected a bit more.

He still has the potential to be as high as a mid-first round selection but if he is sitting here for the Bucs, he would be a really fun fit and nice value.
