Round 2, 58th overall

player. Quincy Roche. 2. EDGE. Miami. 834. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Quincy Roche may not be the best EDGE rusher prospect from the University of Miami, that title goes to Jaelan Phillips, but he is exactly what Baltimore currently needs.

Heading into this offseason, the team only has one EDGE rusher and one outside linebacker under contract heading into the 2021 offseason. Those two are Calais Campbell, who plays more defensive tackle than EDGE, and Jaylon Ferguson.

Adding Roche could allow the Ravens to feel comfortable not bring back either Yannick Ngakoue or Matthew Judon, but once again spending that money on resigning their MVP quarterback.

In his lone season at the University of Miami, Roche had a down season compared to his junior season at Temple. In 2020, Roche had 45 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 3 fumble recoveries, while in 2019 he had 49 tackles and 13 sacks.

The two arguments that could be made here are that Roche had more talent around him at Miami and seemingly had to “share a slice of the pie,” or he was unable to get to the quarterback due to the talent in the ACC.

Personally, I am more of a believer in the first argument and believe that Roche could be an impact pass rusher in his rookie season if he is given a major role right away.
