2021 Senior Bowl: Who stood out and struggled at every position
2021 Senior Bowl: Tight Ends
Standouts
While it wasn’t the best position group at the 2021 Senior Bowl, the tight end group still had some standouts.
Boston College’s Hunter Long had an impressive week in both facets of the game. He looked good as a receiver in drills, showing off a solid route tree and winning against linebackers and athletic safeties. Long can be a field-stretching tight end at the next level while also winning across the field. His blocking chops weren’t too bad either. He looks every bit of a day two pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Georgia’s Tre’ McKitty didn’t have a ton of production in college (just 56 catches in four years) but he got the attention of scouts and analysts down in Mobile. From his impressive one-handed catches to his competitiveness as a blocker, McKitty may have his best football ahead of him in the NFL.
Struggled
The week at the Senior Bowl seemed a little too big for Bowling Green tight end Quintin Morris. Morris is an athletic pass-catching tight end, but he struggled mightily in pass protection drills and struggled to separate as a receiver against more athletic linebackers.
While he didn’t have a bad week, Ole Miss’ Kenny Yeboah showed some inconsistencies as a route runner and needs work as a pass protector. A receiving tight end in college, he will need to work on play strength and his route tree.
