2021 NFL first-round mock draft: Quarterback surprises

2021 NFL Draft: 5th-6th picks
Falling to the number-five selection and into the lap of the team which needs his services the most, the Cincinnatti Bengals land the top tackle prospect of the 2021 NFL draft.
After losing their franchise quarterback or the 2020 and potentially 2021 season due to poor offensive line play, the Bengals will seek protection for their recovering cornerstone.
Pairing Sewell with former first-round tackle Jonah Williams to form a potent pair of pass-protectors, and add a new wrinkle to a running offense that has had lackluster blocking for the talented Joe Mixon.
Building from the offensive line is crucial for the success of a young quarterback, and Sewell is the solution Cincinnatti needs to support Burrow.
Needing a full rebuild in their secondary, the Philadelphia Eagles seek their man-corner pairing to trade acquisition Darius Slay. With one of the most complete resumes of the 2021 NFL draft, Alabama cornerback Patrick Surtain II fulfills his categorization as a physical man-corner who can potentially take a receiver out of the game.
At six-foot-two, Surtain doesn’t ‘wow’ with his athleticism but has the length and technical ability to compete with number-two wide receivers upon entry to the NFL.
Across from Darius Slay and hopefully supported by investment at safety in the offseason, Surtain can effectively matchup against the number-two wideouts of the NFL.
