The Dallas Cowboys look to improve on their poor season with a total of ten picks in this complete seven-round 2021 NFL mock draft.
Despite a late-season surge, the Dallas Cowboys playoff hopes ended as early as Week 5, when Dak Prescott suffered a fracture and dislocation of his right ankle in a victory against the Giants. At 2-3, Dallas was firmly in the race to win the NFC East, but the Cowboys would go on a four-game losing streak without Prescott.
The Cowboys recovered after a Week 10 bye, winning four of their final seven games in head coach Mike McCarthy’s first season in Dallas, but fell just short of winning the NFC East after a 23-19 loss to the Giants. The Dallas Cowboys ended the 2020 season at 6-10, clinching the tenth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, and should be in a position to once again compete in the NFC East next season.
Prescott is expected to return as the starting quarterback and avoiding another year on the franchise tag will be a priority between both Prescott and Jones. The Cowboys are retaining McCarthy after his first season but could be without offensive coordinator Kellen Moore who has attracted interest at both the college and NFL head coaching level. Likewise, Dallas has replaced defensive coordinator Mike Nolan with former Falcons head coach, Dan Quinn.
With the tenth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and a total of ten selections, the Dallas Cowboys have plenty of opportunities to improve upon a disappointing season. This complete seven-round mock draft focuses on putting Dallas back atop the NFC East standings.
