2021 NFL Draft: Five QBs fly off of the board in first-round mock draft
The 2021 NFL Draft is only a couple of months away but things are heating up on where the top quarterbacks will land in the first round. Round one will kick off on Thursday, April 29th in Downtown Cleveland with the Jacksonville Jaguars on the clock first.
The first eighteen picks in this draft are set by the teams that missed the postseason and are determined by overall records, such as the Jaguars had the worst record at 1-15 earning them that top pick. The rest of the spots 19-32 are determined by where each team loses in the playoffs.
The teams that lose in the Wildcard round will be seeded 19-24, with the lowest overall record at 19th. Then the teams that lose in the divisional round will be seeded 25-28 and the conference final losers will be seeded 29th and 30th, respectively. The Super Bowl loser drafts 31st and the Super Bowl winner drafts 32nd overall.
Most believe Trevor Lawrence will be the number one overall selection to the Jacksonville Jaguars but questions remain where will other quarterback prospects land throughout the first round. I could easily see at least five total quarterbacks taken in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
I believe Justin Fields, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, and Kyle Trask could potentially be first-round picks. Also, it is possible to see both of the stud running back prospects in Travis Etienne and Najee Harris selected in the back half of round one.
I will give my pick-by-pick analysis of the first round of what I believe will happen in the 2021 NFL Draft. Using The Draft Network’s mock draft simulator I will create my 2021 mock draft for the first round.
