Miami Dolphins Senior Bowl targets: Robert Rochell, CB, Central Arkansas

The Miami Dolphins are set at starting cornerback with Byron Jones and Xavien Howard. However, the team does need to add depth to the position which they could do by selecting Robert Rochell in the fourth or fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Rochell would be a good developmental cornerback for the Miami Dolphins as has the physical skill set coach Brian Flores likes. One of the traits he has that Flores prefers in a corner is length as he comes in at 6-foot-2. The Dolphins prefer bigger corners as both Byron Jones and Xavien Howard are both 6-foot-1.

Rochell is also a ball hawk in the secondary which the team will find consider a major plus. During his college career, Rochell grabbed ten interceptions and also broke up 35 passes. He also has put up unbelievable testing numbers as he runs the 40-yard dash in 4.38 seconds according to Bruce Feldman.

If the team were to draft Rochell he would likely start off as a fourth or fifth corner, while he works on his technique. However, within a year or two it would not be a surprise if he was able to lock down the nickel cornerback position.
