Miami Dolphins Senior Bowl targets: Najee Harris, RB, Alabama

Another Alabama player the Miami Dolphins will consider drafting in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft is Najee Harris. However, the Dolphins would likely select Harris with the 18th overall pick, as the number three pick is way too high for him.

Harris would be a good fit for Miami as the Dolphins also need to upgrade their running game. Last year’s leading rusher was Myles Gaskin who finished 37th in the league in rushing with just 584 yards. No other back on the roster rushed for over 350 yards, so adding a starting-caliber running back is a big need for the team.

If the team snagged Harris with the 18th overall pick, Harris would likely be the first running back taken in the 2021 NFL Draft. His strong 2020 season showed he is worthy of this honor as he was a major contributor as both a runner and receiver. Last season, he led the SEC in rushing with 1,466 rushing yards and also caught 43 passes out of the backfield.

As a prospect, Harris shows outstanding power and might be the most powerful running back in the class. He also displays surprising quickness for a back who comes in at 230 pounds. One more trait that is a big plus for Harris is receiving ability out of the backfield.

He is definitely a complete running back and is someone who could develop into one of the better running backs in the NFL.
