44. Quarterback. Ohio State. Justin Fields. 4. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

After growing up in Georgia and originally playing at the University of Georgia, Ohio State Buckeye quarterback Justin Fields makes his way back home in this 2021 NFL Draft mock.

Although the Atlanta Falcons offense still looked more than capable throughout the season under Matt Ryan, the team has to start thinking about their future. They landed a top-five pick with their veteran at the helm, so maybe it’s time to shift gears.

It may be tough for the Falcons fans and organization to grasp just a few years removed from a Super Bowl appearance, but a slight rebuild may be in order if they want to compete in the future. Bringing in a player like Justin Fields could be just what the doctor ordered.

Justin Fields brings a whole different dynamic on the field than a guy like Matt Ryan. Fields is as athletic as they come, constantly making plays with his mobility and running ability. Whether it is a designed run or escaping out of the pocket to make a play, Fields is incredibly impressive with his feet.

Don’t overlook his passing ability, though. Fields can make every NFL throw. He has solid zip and great touch. His ball placement is outstanding, often throwing his receivers open or placing the ball where only they can get it.

If you are able to let Justin Fields sit in a quarterback room and learn from a veteran like Matt Ryan for a year or two, Fields could become one of the best players in the NFL. Where Fields lacks a bit right now in reading defenses, mental processing and decision making, Ryan has excelled throughout his career. This could be a perfect pairing for the Atlanta Falcons and a great recipe for success under new head coach, Arthur Smith, moving forward.
