Pick Analysis. Wide Receiver. Rashod Bateman. player. Scouting Report. Minnesota. 27. 26

Although the Baltimore Ravens and quarterback Lamar Jackson avenged their loss from a season ago to the Tennessee Titans and finally won a playoff game, the team couldn’t have been happy with how things ended and Lamar Jackson couldn’t have been please with his performance following an MVP season.

Jackson still dazzled with his legs, but often struggled trying to throw the ball. Once the team got down, it seemed difficult for Jackson to throw his way back into the game. One thing that could have hurt him a bit in that regard? A lack of viable targets to throw to.

Mark Andrews had become Jackson’s favorite target, but he missed some time in 2020. Hollywood Brown is always a dynamic deep threat, but he has struggled to get on the same page with Jackson consistently throughout their short careers to this point. Bringing in another very reliable target for Jackson could be a big help in terms of his growth and development as a passer.

Rashod Bateman from Minnesota seems like a great fit here. Bateman can pretty much do it all as a receiver. He is a great route runner with outstanding hands and a knack for the spectacular play. Bateman’s highlight reel is insane, and that is exactly the type of receiver that Jackson needs. Someone he can just throw it to and he can let them make a play.

Bateman can play outside or in the slot with enough size to beat smaller defenders and enough speed to beat slower ones. Bateman has all the tools to be a true number one receiver in the NFL and should fit in perfectly with guys like Brown and Andrews for the Baltimore Ravens.
