Miami. 21. Pick Analysis. EDGE. Gregory Rousseau. player. 46. Scouting Report

Gregory Rousseau is a 2021 NFL Draft prospect whose stock seems to be on the decline. He was once regarded as a possible top-five pick and is now at risk of possibly even falling out of the first round.

This is largely due to the lack of experience and exposure. Rousseau really has only played one college football season after missing most of 2018 with an ankle injury and opting out of the 2020 season.

In 2019, Rousseau was incredibly impressive racking up 15.5 sacks and 19.5 tackles for loss. On tape, you could see that Rousseau has talent and potential, but he is a very raw player who needs some time to refine his game.

The Indianapolis Colts had a fairly impressive season in 2020 and don’t have a ton of glaring needs heading into the offseason (aside from quarterback with Philip Rivers retiring), the Colts could take a chance on a player like Rousseau.

Allowing Rousseau to work with a player like Justin Houston could be the best thing for his career. While the Colts’ current edge rushers are getting up there in age, they have invaluable experience and knowledge that they can pass on to a promising rookie like Rousseau.

The Colts could certainly make a move for a quarterback with this pick, but if someone like Mac Jones doesn’t excite them and they don’t find a trade target worth giving up a first-round pick for, I could see them taking a talent like Rousseau.
