player. Alabama. Pick Analysis. Running Back. Najee Harris. 18. Scouting Report. 59

Let’s take roll call here… The Miami Dolphins have Tua Tagovailoa, now DeVonta Smith… why not make it a big three with Tide running back Najee Harris?

Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed played well last season, but neither are on the level of Najee Harris. Harris can do just about everything you could ask for from a running back. He has a great blend of speed, strength, elusiveness and catching ability.

Harris, along with his former and new teammate DeVonta Smith, had an outstanding season for Alabama and an impressive College Football Playoff. With his production and his impressive tape, I could see Harris being the first running back off the board in the 2021 NFL Draft in the first round.

To me, Harris seems like a blend of former Alabama running backs Derrick Henry and Alvin Kamara (for a short time, anyway). He is a very physical runner who excels in short-yardage situations with sufficient speed to finish home-run plays. He also is elusive and an effective receiver out of the backfield, an area that he improved upon quite a bit this season.

Having a dynamic back, and another familiar face for Tua Tagovailoa should be very beneficial for a young and up-and-coming offense. Harris can be a true workhorse back, giving the Dolphins another dynamic to their offensive attack.
