Scouting Report. Linebacker. Tulsa. 17. 28. Pick Analysis. Zaven Collins. player

The Las Vegas Raiders actually have a pretty well-rounded roster. This allows them to lean towards the best player available when they get on the clock in the 2021 NFL Draft. That player really could be Tulsa’s Zaven Collins.

Collins proved to be a dynamic player this season, voted the best linebacker and defensive player in the nation. Collins can do a little bit of everything. From blitzing to dropping in coverage, from shooting gaps to taking on blockers in the run game.

When watching his tape, Collins really did everything. He had some very impressive pass-rushing sets. He looked like a true edge rusher at points, exhibiting great burst and bend around the corner. He was also effective in getting to the passer when blitzing up the middle.

In the run game, Collins has the physicality to take on blockers and to lay the wood on ball carriers that he meets in the hole. He also shows the speed to range from sideline to sideline to make plays.

Also displaying that speed and athleticism, Collins excelled when dropping back in coverage. He has great instincts and impressive ball skills. He grabbed many picks and looked like an offensive player running them back.

The Las Vegas Raiders tried to address the linebacker position last offseason by signing free agent Cory Littleton, but after a disappointing year, the position is still a need. Collins could really play any linebacker position and should come in and impact the game in multiple ways right away.
