2021 NFL mock draft: Round 2, 54th overall

Pick Analysis. 2. player. CB. Syracuse. Ifeatu Melifonwu. 827. Scouting Report

The Tennessee Titans struggled to defend the pass all season long and they need to invest resources into fixing that issue this offseason. With their second-round pick of this 2021 NFL mock draft, the Titans improve this problem area with the selection of Syracuse defensive back Ifeatu Melifonwu.

Melifonwu played both safety and cornerback in college and showed exciting ability at both positions. That being said, his combination of fantastic length and high-level athleticism should force his NFL team to at least try him at cornerback to start his career.

Melifonwu is a smooth mover in space, reads the quarterback well and attacks the ball in the air at a high level. He can jam receivers with press coverage at the line of scrimmage and has the speed needed to keep up down the field. He is a bit of a raw talent but Melifonwu has exciting upside as a cornerback at the next level. Investing in him here would certainly make sense for the Titans.

2021 NFL mock draft: Round 3, 85th overall

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 3. player. 866. EDGE. Pittsburgh. Patrick Jones II

With Jadeveon Clowney likely leaving the Titans via free agency this offseason, edge rusher stands out as a major position of need for the team, especially when we consider their pass-rush issues this season.

Here, they snag Patrick Jones II to help on the edge. Jones shows an explosive first step, impressive bend around the edge and can attack the quarterback with a variety of pass-rush moves. He is also a high-motor player who never gives up on the play. Simply put, Jones can make an impact as a speed rusher off of the edge at the next level. The Titans need defenders who can impact the passing game and Jones certainly fits the bill.

2021 NFL mock draft: Round 3, 101st overall

Washington. player. Pick Analysis. IDL. Levi Onwuzurike. 3. 818. Scouting Report

Levi Onwuzurike displays a quick first step and impressive quickness on the interior defensive line. He has exciting upside as a one-gap penetrator and does a great job of maintaining proper pad level and holding his own against the run. The Titans could certainly use some depth at the defensive tackle position and Onwuzurike would be another defender who could help them against opposing passing attacks.
