The Tennessee Titans won the AFC South with an impressive 11-5 record this season but bowed out early with the 20-13 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Wild Card weekend. Mike Vrabel and company are clearly building a strong team in Tennessee and they have been legitimate contenders in the AFC the last couple of seasons. However, do they have what it takes to get over the hump.

The Titans are not exactly loaded with cap space this offseason so a majority of their improvements will likely come through the draft. Here, we are going to do our best to improve the Tennessee Titans with a complete seven-round 2021 NFL mock draft for the team.

The Titans may have a hard time bringing back free-agent wide receiver Corey Davis this offseason. If Davis does move on to another opportunity, wide receiver will be a massive position of need for this team. Luckily, this draft class is absolutely loaded at the position.

In the first round of this 2021 NFL mock draft, the Tennessee Titans take advantage of the impact wide receiver talent in this class by adding Rashod Bateman to the mix. Bateman is a crafty route runner who also shows great toughness in the middle of the field. He can separate from the defense most of the time but Bateman also shines in contested-catch situations when he needs to.

On top of that, Bateman is an impact player with the ball in his hands. He is not the most explosive receiver in this class, but he blends quickness and contact balance well to pick up tough yards after the catch.

The Titans’ offense may look much different without offensive coordinator Arthur Smith around to lead the way, but with Ryan Tannehill under center, I expect them to still feature the play-action passing game and attack the defense in the intermediate and deep range over the middle of the field. Bateman is an impact player at the position who would also fit the team well. This feels like an ideal selection for Tennessee.
