Houston Texans 2021 NFL Mock Draft: Round 1

Scouting Report. 3. 10. College Stats. WR. LSU. Ja'Marr Chase. player

Having regained their first-round selection in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans look for their replacement to the dearly-missed De’Andre Hopkins.  A generational talent sold for pennies on the dollar, Hopkins has only further proven his worth as one of the few NFL wideouts who can succeed as the sole focal point of a passing attack.

With Hopkins on the outs though, Watson was forced to shoulder the load of the offense and attempt to punch above his weight with underwhelming weaponry.

After an outstanding season from Alabama Heisman-winner DeVonta Smith, many have forgotten about Joe Burrow‘s favorite target from their run to the national championship. Potentially the most complete day one receiver of the 2021 NFL draft, Ja’Marr Chase is a well-rounded six-foot-one X-receiver who doesn’t have any particular weakness or red flag on his scouting report.

With such a seemingly complete game upon entry to the NFL, the Houston Texans could potentially find their direct replacement for De’Andre Hopkins in the 2021 NFL draft. New franchise quarterback Tua Tagovailoa also made clear during his tenure in Miami that he will need weapons to succeed in his early years, making the selection of a top-five wide receiver in the 2021 NFL draft a must.
