2021 NFL Draft: 29th overall

48. Pick Analysis. Texas. 29. player. Scouting Report. EDGE. Joseph Ossai

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are still standing thanks to an impressive showing by their defense, who hadn’t had one that good in several weeks. Devin White’s return sparked the defense, and they created short fields for the offense to cash in. The team looks complete and could make a return to the Super Bowl on their home field no less.

If we look ahead to the 2021 NFL Draft, a couple of needs look pressing. Donovan Smith looks to be on his last leg, so tackle is in play. The defensive line and secondary could use some help as well, and a dynamic running back isn’t out of the picture either.

Here, the Bucs go with a pass rusher in Texas’ Joseph Ossai. Ossai has had a couple of impressive seasons down in Austin, registering 29 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks in his last two seasons. His athleticism and ability to turn the corner on the edge is impressive, and while he’s still a little raw with his hand usage and counters, the sky is the limit for him.

It may be a luxury pick, but when your roster is good, you can afford it. It’s also impossible to have too many pass rushers.
