2021 NFL Draft: 27th overall

player. Rashod Bateman. WR. Minnesota. 27. 26. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

The Baltimore Ravens, one year after being the one seed in the AFC, needed a major rally in November and December to reach the postseason. They rattled off five straight wins to end the year and kept the momentum rolling with a win over the Titans in the Wild Card round.

Alas, the season would end in Buffalo, as they struggled to find any footing on offense, and Lamar Jackson left the game in the fourth quarter with a concussion.

This offense, while dangerous, lacks a consistent receiving threat. Miles Boykin hasn’t become that, and Marqise Brown can’t do it on his own. Jackson needs someone he can trust on the perimeter as he continues to grow as a passer.

The good news is that the 2021 NFL Draft contains plenty of first-round talents, including Minnesota receiver Rashod Bateman. Bateman ended up playing in the 2020 season for the Golden Gophers, catching 36 passes for 472 yards and two touchdowns.

On film, Bateman displays great technical skills as a route runner, creating separation at the top of his routes. He’s mastered the slant and in-breaking routes, something that will help Jackson. Bateman can also win down the field and make the Ravens a more explosive passing offense, something needed in 2021.
