2021 NFL Draft: 20th overall

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 20. Christian Darrisaw. player. 57. OT. Virginia Tech

It was a fairly wild year for the Chicago Bears. They started out their season 5-1, then proceeded to lost five straight, but found their footing late in the year to secure the seven seed in the NFC. Led by their defense and an improving running back in David Montgomery, the Bears did enough to save the jobs of general manager Ryan Pace and head coach Matt Nagy.

The key for them to stay beyond next year is nail things in free agency and the 2021 NFL Draft. Here, they are just out of range for one of the top four quarterbacks, meaning they’ll likely wait until day two of the 2021 NFL Draft to potentially address that need.

Instead, they look to the tackle position, where Charles Leno Jr. and Germain Ifedi aren’t the answer.

Virginia Tech tackle Christian Darrisaw might just be their long term answer here in round one. Darrisaw, at six foot five and 311 pounds, has the frame for the position. He also has incredible length to keep rushers off of his frame.

For his size, Darrisaw is an excellent mover in space and rarely gives up ground in pass protection. Plug him in to left tackle and help out whoever is under center in 2021.
