2021 NFL Draft: 14th overall

The Minnesota Vikings hadn’t had a rough season under head coach Mike Zimmer, but after an offseason of needing to clear cap, things were rough. They were extremely young at corner and lacked a lot of help on the defensive line. Minnesota traded for Yannick Ngakoue and traded him away weeks later.

Danielle Hunter went on IR, and the offense was the only thing keeping them afloat. Dalvin Cook had a monster season on the ground, and Justin Jefferson played like a Pro Bowler.

Now, the team may look elsewhere at the quarterback position. Trey Lance is available here, but they may feel comfortable with Kirk Cousins and look elsewhere in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Fixing the defensive line would certainly go a long way. Alabama star Christian Barmore had a slow start to 2020, but finished very well, dominating in both of the playoff games for the Crimson Tide. He’s a dangerous rusher from the zero and one technique and has the lower body strength to get off of blockers and get into the backfield.

Getting Hunter back and having Barmore in the middle of that line will be instrumental in getting Zimmer’s defense back to where it’s been the past few years.
