Steelers 2020 rookie review: Kevin Dotson, OG
In the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft the Pittsburgh Steelers went with the guard out of Lousiana-Lafayette, Kevin Dotson. Dotson showed some time this year and has a lot of people excited for what he can do going forward. Dotson filled in for David DeCastro and for Matt Feiler this seaosn when both were out for injury. Many of Pittsburgh was quite upset with Steelers going with Feiler instead of Dotson against the Brown with Fieler coming off injury, making a fan favorite already.
Wouldn’t say Dotson defiently had a small sample size this season for he only started four games in the 2020 season for the Pittsbrugh Steelers. According to PFF, Dotson was the highest rated rookie offensive lineman this season. Dotson should he has strong hands and quick feet making him a threat when asked to pull on run plays.
In Dotson’s first-ever start the O-line of the Steelers only allowed one sack, but it was from an interior lineman on Dotson’s side inside. But nonetheless, Dotson showed a lot of promise in the little sample we got to take a taste of this season.
Matt Feiler is a free agent this offseason and it is looking promising for those Steeler fans who wanted him so badly to start against Cleveland. Dotson could be the starter next season for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
