Ideal first round landing spots for Alabama quarterback Mac Jones
By Pablo Rosero
Tom Brady will play another year, but what will the Bucs do at quarterback following 2021?
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Draft spot TBA
Tom Brady and the Bucs beat Chase Young and the Washington Football Team in the wildcard round of the NFC playoffs. Brady beats father time on a weekly basis, as he became the oldest quarterback to throw for a touchdown in the playoffs, but how much football does he have left in him?
As far as next season, Brady is expected to be back in Tampa Bay. Bruce Arians and the Bucs should plan ahead and add a proper successor and not find themselves wasting a talented roster with no post- Tom Brady contingency plan, let’s look at New England for an example of that.
Mac Jones would fit in nicely here on a team that does not have any major holes that they will need to address heading into the 2021 offseason. Currently, their main focus in the off-season should be on trying to retain Godwin and avoid him hitting free agency.
Regardless, the team has a defense that should hit elite status next season and an offense core that will have more cohesiveness in year two under Brady.
For Mac Jones, learning under Brady would be a blessing and it could give the Bucs a quarterback that Arians loves. Big, strong arm, and smart. It would be a win-win for all parties involved.
