Ideal first round landing spots for Alabama quarterback Mac Jones

Steelers need to keep an eye on the future when addressing the quarterback position
Pittsburgh Steelers
24th overall pick
Ben Roethlisberger is not the quarterback he used to be, it was obvious when he threw 4 interceptions against the Cleveland Browns. Yes, he threw for 4 touchdowns and 500 passing yards. He even broke the NFL record for most completions in a game with 47 completions, however, he had 65 attempts. These are good numbers, but it should not have been this way.
The Steelers have everything, a good offensive line, receivers, and an elite defense, they are a run game and a new quarterback away from being able to keep pace with the Chiefs in the AFC.
Roethlisberger seems as though he will return in 2021, but selecting his backup and successor should be a priority for the Steelers, along with adding a running back.
Even though it is likely that Roethlisberger will not be happy with adding a new quarterback, he wasn’t happy with the team drafting Mason Rudolph a few years back, but the franchise should do what’s best for their future.
Big Ben might be one of the franchise’s greatest players, but he is no longer the future, and this team will waste their defense’s window similar to the Bears unless they add a new quarterback.
Jones profiles closely to Roethlisberger and would take over easily behind that offensive line and wideout core. Adding a pass-catching back in this draft could make both Rothelisberger’s season and Jones’ career a lot easier.
