Washington is a quarterback away from being the best team in the NFC East

Washington Football Team

19th overall pick

The Washington Football Team made it to the playoffs thanks to their defense and conservative offense. Alex Smith was the feel-good story of the year and should be the clear favorite for comeback player of the year, but it was clear that his best football is way behind him.

Jones would be an ideal replacement for the team and could give Ron Rivera the quarterback he is looking for.

Mac Jones isn’t the most mobile of quarterbacks, he’s the traditional pocket quarterback who progresses his reads and finds the open guy. He’ll usually check the ball down or throw it in the dirt before taking off to run.

However, in an offense that has talented players such as Antonio Gibson, J.D. McKissic, Terry McLaurin and Logan Thomas, Jones would come in day one and have full reign of the offense.

I think the defense is trending in the right direction and the offense is as well, and rather than spending big bucks on a quarterback, the team can focus on bringing back Brandon Scherff as well.

With the other NFC East teams expected to see drastic changes this offseason, the Football Team could see their own drastic change at the most important position on the field.
