Jaguars 2021 mock draft: 4th pick

If you get yourself a young quarterback, you’re going to need to make sure he has plenty of weapons…

It’s proven over and over again in the NFL how vital a security blanket is at the tight end position, but in today’s NFL, having a game-changing weapon at tight end is almost en vogue.

Travis Kelce has set a very high standard at the position, but players around the league are doing their best to rise up and meet it. Darren Waller of the Raiders, George Kittle of the 49ers, Mark Andrews of the Ravens, Noah Fant of the Broncos, TJ Hockenson of the Lions, and plenty of others have proven that the tight end is no longer just a secondary weapon but a position to be feared if you have the right guy out there.

Pat Freiermuth of Penn State has that potential with his natural athleticism, imposing size, and massive catch radius.

It’s clear that Kyle Pitts is the cream of the crop in the 2021 class but Freiermuth is no slouch. If he is on the board in round two as he was in this projection, the Jaguars would almost assuredly rush to the podium to pick him.
