Carolina Panthers. 4. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Joe Brady. player. 44. Offensive Coordinator

Man, what an ascension Joe Brady has made. At just 31-years-old, Brady has only been coaching since 2013. He got his first NFL experience in 2017 spending two seasons with the New Orleans Saints before switching back to the college ranks in 2019 as the LSU offensive coordinator.

With Joe Burrow in Baton Rouge, Joe Brady really showed what he is capable of. The Tiger offense was as impressive as any we have ever seen, and he quickly jumped right back into the NFL (and the NFC South) as the offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers.

At this point, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers may feel left out, because if the rumors are true, it’s looking like Brady may take another jump in the division to head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. Paired with former Saints exec Terry Fontenot, the Falcons could look to form a dynamic duo.

Brady is an offensive wizard that will know exactly how to deploy weapons such as Calvin Ridley, Julio Jones, Russell Gage, Hayden Hurst and more, whether the quarterback is Matt Ryan or a rookie selected fourth overall.

Particularly if the Falcons do grab a QB towards the top of the 2021 NFL Draft, it would make a lot of sense to pair him with a young offensive superstar of a coach. Sure, Brady will have to prove that he is ready for such a big responsibility at such a young age, but if he interviews well, I don’t see why you would pass on a chance to snag Joe Brady while you still can.

My pick: Nathaniel Hackett, Offensive Coordinator, Green Bay Packers

Although I do love the Joe Brady fit, if a team like the Jags were to snag him, Nathaniel Hackett wouldn’t be a bad consolation prize. Hackett has had the Green Bay offense clicking on all cylinders and has Aaron Rodgers back in his MVP form. Sure, it’s easy for an offense to look good with guys like Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams, but Hackett has been given a ton of credit for the Packers’ success this season.

I could see the Falcons running a very similar style of offense with the weapons that they currently have. Throw in a young, talented quarterback like Zach Wilson from the 2021 NFL Draft and before long we could start to see the Atlanta offense following in the footsteps of what Rodgers has been doing this season in Green Bay.
