Raiders 2021 mock draft: 2nd pick

The life-blood of the Raiders’ offensive attack is their running game.

The Raiders’ ability to run all day if need be is a crucial piece to their overall team success, and with some potential departures on the interior offensive line in 2021, upgrades could be necessary.

If Wyatt Davis is still around in the second round by the time they are on the clock, it could be a nice haul for Vegas.

One of the top run blockers in college football, Davis is a mauler who looks like a plug-and-play type of guy at the right guard position.

The Raiders’ projected starting guards heading into the 2020 season were Richie Incognito (LG) and Gabe Jackson (RG) though Incognito landed on IR and Jackson was the subject of offseason trade rumors.

2020 fourth-round pick John Simpson is a player the Raiders should still be hopeful about as far as his long-term future with the team, but Davis is too talented to pass up on here and would allow the team to really focus some budget elsewhere on the roster.

Hopefully Davis is okay after going down with an injury in the National Championship game vs. Alabama.
