Improving the Chicago Bears’ offense in this seven-round 2021 NFL mock draft

The Chicago Bears went out with a whimper on Sunday night, falling 21-9 to the New Orleans Saints in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. It was a bit of a miracle that the 8-8 Bears were even in the post-season but they were clearly out-classed by the Saints and need to make significant changes this offseason if they expect to seriously compete going forward.

We may see new leadership across the board for the Chicago Bears as moving on from team president Ted Phillips, general manager Ryan Pace and head coach Matt Nagy could all be fired soon. No matter who is in charge, there is a ton of room for improvement on this roster. With little cap space to work with, a majority of these roster improvements will have to come through the 2021 NFL Draft.

In this post, we are going to make draft predictions for the Chicago Bears with a complete seven-round 2021 NFL mock draft for the team. How can the Bears improve their ability to compete going forward? Let’s find out.

Unless the Chicago Bears want to fool themselves into thinking Mitchell Trubisky is the guy, quarterback stands out as the biggest position of need on the roster. However, if they lose Allen Robinson in free agency, wide receiver will not be far behind.

With their first pick of this 2021 NFL mock draft, the Chicago Bears address that wide receiver need with the selection of Rashod Bateman. Bateman is a true alpha wide receiver who shows the  ability to make plays both on the outside and out of the slot.

He is a fantastic route runner who changes directions quickly and knows how to change speeds extremely well. He can get easy separation against man coverage and has a knack for finding the soft spots against zone.

Bateman is also a physical and competitive receiver who displays tremendous natural ball skills and controls his body extremely well in the air. He is also a dynamic playmaker after the catch who is extremely difficult to bring down in space.

Simply put, Bateman is a true number one wide receiver in the making who has massive upside at the next level. The Chicago Bears would still have to figure out their quarterback situation but snagging Rashod Bateman in the first round of this 2021 NFL mock draft would undoubtedly help their offense in a big way going forward.
