Washington Football Team 7-round 2021 NFL mock draft after playoff loss
A complete seven-round 2021 NFL mock draft for the Washington Football Team
It was a valiant effort but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ultimately proved to be too much for the Washington Football Team to handle on Saturday night. Quarterback Taylor Heinicke stepped into a tough sitation and balled out for Washington against the Bucs, making many key plays when his team needed him to the most.
While it is unlikely that Heinicke becomes a starting option for Washington going forward, he showed impressive toughness and natural playmaking ability on that field. No matter who ends up taking snaps under center for Washington going forward, there is no doubt that this team has a lot of interesting talent on both sides of the ball. They are certainly a team to watch going forward.
It will be interesting to see what the Washington Football Team can do to improve their stock of talent this offseason. In this post, we are going to go seven rounds deep with Washington, prediciting a complete seven-round 2021 NFL mock draft for the team.

2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 19th overall
Ideally, the Washington Football Team would be able to find a true franchise quarterback in the first round of the draft this offseason. Unfortunately, that is unlikely with them making their pick at No. 19 overall. With the top four quarterbacks off of the board when Washington went on the clock in this 2021 NFL mock draft, any selection at the position would be a reach. That being said, being able to land Rashawn Slater here would be fantastic.
Slater is an extremely tough and physical offensive lineman who consistently overwhelms opposing defenders with power at the point of attack. He is quick off of the ball, gets his hands on the defender in an instant and has the quickness needed to be an impact second-level blocker. Slater also shines in pass protection, using his impressive combination of quickness and power to well to stop most edge rushers completely in his tracks.
Make no mistake about it, Slater is a fantastic offensive tackle prospect who has massive upside at the next level. Sticking Slater at left tackle, opposite of Morgan Moses on the right side, would give the Washington Football Team an extremely talented duo at the offensive tackle position. They may not have their quarterback situation figured out but adding Slater to the mix would undoubtedly help whoever ends up taking snaps under center for the team.
