Round 2

OT. Notre Dame. Liam Eichenberg. 37. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 54

With an already aging offensive line, the Philadelphia Eagles will need to replace 39-year-old and impending free agent Jason Peters within the 2021 NFL Draft. A stalwart at left tackle within the Eagles organization, recent injuries to the All-Pro tackle have rendered a likely end to Peter’s career when concerns of youth were already knocking at the gates.

Notre Dame’s Liam Eichenberg is possibly the most imposing run-blocker of the tackle class, heading one of the best rushing attacks in college football in 2020. Eichenberg has been a staple of the Fighting Irish offensive line since 2018, and will immediately add run-blocking value for Miles Sanders and Jalen Hurts. At 6-foot-6, Eichenberg makes up for slow feet with reach and will continue his development at the next level.

Pittsburgh. Paris Ford. 70. player. S. 54. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

The emotional leader of the Pittsburgh defense, Paris Ford managed 30 tackles (three for loss) and three interceptions through seven games this past season for the Panthers as a center-field safety with the freedom to attack downhill. With an aggressive mentality and a nose for the football, Ford is welcome to contact and supplements his units run defense from the third-level.

Although imperfect in coverage, Ford possesses adequate range and this same aggression (when reigned in) would be a perfect match for the aggressive Eagles secondary. Paired alongside a more pure free-safety and boundary corners who can handle their matchups, Ford can be a presence in the box for the Philadelphia Eagles and turn into the premier safety product of the 2021 NFL Draft.
