Carolina Panthers complete seven-round 2021 NFL mock draft
Improving the Carolina Panthers in this complete seven-round 2021 NFL mock draft.
Finishing with a 5-11 record, it was not exactly a banner year for the Carolina Panthers. This team has a lot of interesting young talent on both sides of the ball and head coach Matt Rhule appears to be the right guy to lead them into the future, but make no mistake about it, this team has a long way to go.
The Panthers did a great job of finding impact talent in the draft last year and have an opportunity to do this again this offseason, starting with the eighth overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft. How can the Carolina Panthers make the most out of their draft capital? Find out in this complete seven-round 2021 NFL mock draft for the team.

2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 8th overall
Teddy Bridgewater is a solid bridge quarterback option but he is not a guy who is going to lead the Panthers to a ton of long-term success. If the opportunity arises for Carolina to find a legitimate franchise quarterback this offseason, they need to pounce. In this 2021 NFL mock draft, Trey Lance is still available at No. 8 and he fits the bill.
Lance is an incredibly gifted quarterback prospect who has massive upside at the next level. He has elite natural arm talent, showing the ability to hit any throw on the field. Lance throws a beautiful deep ball, can fit the ball into tight spaces with velocity and shows the ability to make accurate passes using unique arm angles when needed.
He is also a tremendous athlete at the quarterback position whose combination of size, speed and power make him a consistent threat with the ball in his hands. Lance is a dynamic dual-threat quarterback who undoubtedly has massive upside at the next level.
As exciting as Lance is, there are some accuracy concerns in his game and coming from the FCS level is less than ideal. That being said, I am betting on his traits and fully expect Lance to grow into an impact player at the next level.
Taking Lance and letting him sit behind Bridgewater for a bit while he adapts to the NFL game would make sense for the Carolina Panthers. If Lance were to hit his ceiling in Carolina, this team would quickly become a legitimate contender in the NFC.
