2021 NFL Draft 1st round, 23rd overall

Joseph Ossai. player. 53. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Texas. 23. EDGE

The Cleveland Browns are obviously a team on the rise in the loaded AFC and despite having ample huge personalities on the roster as well as a very long playoff drought, they have somewhat quietly risen through the AFC ranks.

One big reason for their inclusion in the NFL’s postseason “dance” in 2020? Myles Garrett is an absolute superstar on the defensive line and one of the most dominant players off the edge in the NFL today.

How could the Browns make life better/easier for Garrett in 2021 and beyond?

They could add themselves a player like Joseph Ossai.

Ossai was a consensus first-team All-American for Texas in 2020 with 55 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles.

He’s the type of player off the edge who is going to either feast on one-on-one matchups he gets or he will be able to draw extra attention and force offenses to give some favorable matchups to Myles Garrett off the other edge.

The Browns obviously envisioned this with Olivier Vernon off the other edge and he has been solid especially throughout the second half of the season, but an upgrade should be pursued.
