Hamilcar Rashed Jr, OLB, Oregon State

It is likely no player saw a bigger drop in production this year than Oregon State linebacker Hamilcar Rashed. In 2019, Rashad led the nation in tackles for loss with 22.5 and tied for third nationally in sacks with 14. This year has been disappointing to say the least though for Rashad as his tackles for loss this year dropped to two, and he didn’t record a single sack.

On the positive side Rashard does show a nice burst off the line of scrimmage, and can beat most offensive tackles off the edge with this speed. Another trait that sticks out with him when watching his film is that he does do a good job in pursuit. This was more evident in his 2019 film though, as he gave a much better effort overall that season.

When it comes to projecting him to the NFL his best fit might be as a 3-4 outside linebacker in the NFL due to his overall athletic ability and because he is somewhat undersized for an NFL defensive end, coming in at only 245 pounds. As far as where he will go in the draft that will likely come down to what teams value more the potential he shows and his strong 2019 film or his poor film from this year.
