2021 NFL mock draft: Round 4, 105th overall

858. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. RB. Memphis. player. Kenneth Gainwell. 4

With Todd Gurley and Brian Hill both hitting free agency this offseason, running back stands out as a major position of need for the Atlanta Falcons. Taking a shot on some upside at the position in the 2021 NFL Draft would make sense for Atlanta, as they try to secure a running back who can help them now and in the long-term.

Kenneth Gainwell is an elusive and explosive running back prospect who shines with the ball in his hands. He is a strong runner who can make an impact on the inside or outside and shines as a receiver out of the backfield. Gainwell stands out as a great value pick in this range and would provide a ton of long-term upside for the Falcons at a position of need.

Michigan. Ambry Thomas. 5. player. Scouting Report. CB. 811. Pick Analysis

Ambry Thomas is a long and athletic cornerback prospect who shines in press coverage at the line of scrimmage. He is a feisty competitor who does a nice job of remaining physical throughout the rep and attacks the ball in the air extremely well. In Thomas, the Atlanta Falcons find themselves an interesting cornerback prospect later in this 2021 NFL mock draft.

2021 NFL mock draft: Round 5, 178th overall

WR. 5. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Iowa. Ihmir Smith-Marsette. 878

Ihmir Smith-Marsette was never able to fully prove himself as a major offensive playmaker at Iowa. The Hawkeyes run a run-heavy offensive attack, leading to limited opportunities for Smith-Marsette to shine. That being said, he did flash an impressive natural skill-set at the wide receiver position and can grow into an impact player at the next level.

Smith-Marsette is a quick, smooth and explosive wide receiver who can make an impact in the short, intermediate and deep passing game. He is a strong playmaker with the ball in his hands, creating well after the catch and showing a ton of upside as a return specialist. At worst, Smith-Marsette would provide value on special teams and has a chance to grow into a real offensive playmaker.
